The volume trends across colour, fabric, print and even silhouette are no longer a ‘gender game‘ as the brands showcasing at the Berlin tradeshows demonstrated. Brands who cater to both men and women listen up! As these trends could help you plan bigger volumes next winter with a new relevancy, allowing commerciality and flexibility between gender apparel categories.

Colour of the Year – Ultraviolet
Brands were quick off the mark incorporating Pantone’s 2018 colour of the year into their AW18/19 ranges. From streetwear to luxury, footwear to outwear, this tone was adopted across all commodity lines and markets demonstrating that this vibrant tone is not one to back away from.
Plush Velvet Corduroy
Corduroy is a winter staple in the fabrication portfolio. Traditional executions have been ignored for AW18/19 with plush, wide wale cords breathing newness into this fabric. Comfort, warmth and luxe texture are all captured in these updated corduroys making them appropriate for lounging or winter nights out.
Prince of Wales Continues
The heritage pattern and print that hit the AW17 highstreet with full force continues with brands at the Berlin tradeshows confirming the popularity of this heritage woven look. Outerwear, tailoring and bottoms were the go-to commodities shown in POW volume.
Side Stripe Pants
Racer stripes are showing no sign of driving off before AW18 with denim, tapered pants, chinos and joggers continuing to sport the trend. Colour choice remained being weighted behind red, white and black for the true retro sports look.
