SS18 Berlin Tradeshows: Women’s Takeaways
In this report, we’re pulling together the key Womenswear Highlights from the Berlin shows. From print, colour, details to key silhouettes. We hope you enjoy them and they’re helpful pointers.
Ultra brights were used in palm, banana leaf and tropical flower prints, often against black backgrounds for print definition. Palm prints were seen across tops, dresses and jackets and used sparingly on bottoms such as skirts and culottes.
Ladder lacing was seen as a feminine detail across woven tops, made out of lightweight summer fabrics, adding extra detail to garments.
A colour we have previously flagged as a key SS18 tone, intense coral was a key statement seen across dresses, tops and jackets. Often placed within white, black and blue styling suggestions, to add a vibrant pop to key commodity pieces.
Top to Toe
Co-ordinated sets re-appeared in force at the Berlin trade shows, with a short and skirt focus being presented in seasonal prints with matching long sleeve, short sleeve and crop top options. Essential lightweight summer fabric highlights were cotton, jersey and Tencel, making them the ultimate mix and match summer option.
