SS18 Berlin Tradeshows: Womenswear Colour Direction
The next instalment from the teams trip to Berlin with a womenswear focus on colour:
Red, White and Blue
A variation of hues in red and blue are paired with white to create a powerful, uncomplicated palette of pieces that mix and match together in harmony.
Seen across women’s tops, bottoms and jackets, red white and blue will be a strong colour grouping for SS18 both online and in-store with multiple styling options. Striping print was the most popular print within the theme and small scale embroidery was added onto tops and jacket sleeves for additional detail. Yarn dyes and colour blocking continue alongside these printed looks.
Beige has been updated for the SS18 season; prints and patterns such as leopard print and vertical stripes have been added to create fresh interest in this long term continuity commodity colour.
Paired with deeper hues such as burgundy, mahogany and greens, beige moves from being a core neutral and becomes more fashion forward. Styling is key to increase in store sales of beige, the customer needs to be inspired and given stylistic options.
Bright and bold yellow brought new life to collections of blues, pinks and creams. Seen across: dresses, floaty summer trousers and lightweight summer knitwear, yellow attracts attention and brightens a continuity colour suggestion of navy and grey. Seen not just in the more traditional dress and soft separates categories but also in more sporty, casual items.
