SS18 Resort: Guccification

A Season of More

The fashion revolution created by Alessandro Michele by overloading our visual senses never fails to disappoint as we see more colour, print, fabric, texture, embroidery and layers work their way into SS18. Gucci’s influence on designers and the high street has been instrumental, encouraging brands to up the ante on styling, fabric use and print direction and the resort collection is no exception as it continues to inspire out-of-the-box fashion.

Branded

Gucci continues to exploit their branding across garments and accessories, however, this season have updated from Gucci to Guccy, poking fun at themselves in an effortlessly trendy way. Other branded slogans included Guccify and Guccification, in simple block fonts that playfully suggest these are knock-off Gucci products.

Preppy Cricket Whites

The cricket cardigan is the layering piece for SS18 as indicated by Gucci, who injected their brand colour of green and red into the sports tipped hems and button fronts. Chunky cable knits were the unisex favourite, however, ladies silk, printed cardigans mimicked the silhouette for a feminine evening appeal.
